Interesting online course sites

This is a seriously good website http://www.openculture.com. In addition to having interesting daily postings you can access 530 free online courses in loads of different subjects including languages.

The Stanford University has some online courses but they focus on Engineering & Computer science plus Business & Management http://online.stanford.edu/courses/index.html

Stuffed Tomatoes

These are delicious, you could use any combination of these fillings but this worked very well.

Cut the tops off the tomatoes and scoop out the middle. Discard. Mix together some breadcrumbs, grated cheese, pinenuts, sunflower seeds, pesto and tomato tapenade. Use to fill the tomatoes, overfilling slightly to make a domed top and pop the lid on. Bake for 10 minutes at 200 degrees.

Making Movies

Isn't it great that movie making is accessible now to all with the internet and youtube etc. Watch this gorgeous little amateur love story here and say your heart doesn't bleed as the little elephant turns its back and walks away...

Gerard Depardieu

Who saw Gerard Depardieu on Graham Norton last night? What a funny man. His obvious love of life exudes from him and his rapport with the other guests was a pleasure to see. We saw the great man in person climbing off his motorbike in Paris in St. Germain. It was obviously him even before he had taken off his full face crash helmet. He's a big bloke, but one with presence.

Owner of vineyards and four restaurants he obviously just loves life.

National Trails Day 2012

I'd been hearing a lot about this on TV adverts and thought I'd look it up and it sounds really lovely. National Trails day (see website here http://www.nationaltrailsday.ie/ ) links together organised walks all over the country tomorrow, Sunday 7th October. You can search by county, theme and suitability (i.e. buggy friendly). In my area, Dublin, I thought this walk in Donabate sounded nice http://www.nationaltrailsday.ie/events/dublin/event-details/article/donabate-cliff-walk/?tx_ttnews%5BbackPid%5D=57&cHash=c32e35e423e260e80f028d0ef40766ac
